Your Teacher
My name is Mrs. Robin Weatherbee. I have two children of my own that teach me something new everyday. I graduated from the University of St. Francis in 2005 with high honors receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Learning Behavior Specialist certificate. In 2008, I completed a Masters of Arts degree in Education from Olivet Nazarene University. I have been teaching for eight years. I taught for six years with the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative within the Minooka School Districts and then was hired by the district three years ago after Minooka decided to hire their own special education staff.
I do not want to be just a teacher. Instead, I want to be a guide, a life coach. I feel that making a difference in a child's life is the most rewarding job out there. In today's times, the world can be a very confusing and frightening place to children. I believe in promoting a positive learning atmosphere that teaches children through life experiences that convey relevance to the real world. Having a classroom with structure and rules that teach respect for one another and tolerance for difference is something I strongly promote. Students should feel comfortable speaking in front of their peers without fear of judgment or ridicule. I provide a comfortable and safe environment for my students.
